Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, using, or signing up for RecipeLab (the “Service”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Relationship with Platform EULAs (Apple iOS)

If you download or use our iOS app, your license to use the iOS application is also governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple Standard EULA”). If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA regarding your license to run the iOS app, the Apple Standard EULA controls. These Terms govern all other aspects of your use of the Service (e.g., your account, content, and community rules).

3. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least the age of digital consent in your region (13 in many places; up to 16 in some countries). If you are under the age of majority, you represent you have consent from a parent or legal guardian. You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity that occurs under your account.

4. User Responsibilities

You must ensure that all content (including recipes, images, text, comments, and any other material) you submit or use within the Service is owned by you or that you have the necessary rights, licenses, or permissions to use it. You represent and warrant that your content and use of the Service comply with applicable laws. You are fully responsible for any material you add to the Service.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

RecipeLab LLC and its content, including but not limited to logos, trademarks, design elements, and underlying code, are protected by intellectual property laws. You agree not to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our content without explicit written permission. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by RecipeLab LLC.

6. Content Ownership & Licenses (Your Content)

You retain ownership of your content. By posting content on the Service, you grant RecipeLab LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt, modify, create derivative works from, and distribute your content solely to operate, provide, improve, and promote the Service.

For content you make public, you also grant other users a license to view and use it within the Service as enabled by features of the Service. This license ends when you remove your content or delete your account, except that (i) reasonable backup copies may persist for a limited time; (ii) we may retain content as required by law; and (iii) content already used or shared by others may remain available to them.

7. Community Code of Conduct, Reporting & Enforcement

• Be respectful. Harassment, hate speech, and abusive behavior are not tolerated.
• Use clear and appropriate language; avoid explicit or offensive material.
• Only upload images and content you have rights to use.
• Do not share illegal, dangerous, or deceptive content.
• Report suspicious or harmful content via in-app tools or email.

We may remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, block users, or take other actions at our discretion to protect the community. We maintain a repeat-infringer policy and offer a basic appeal process via email at support@recipelab.com.

8. DMCA Notice & Agent

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, please send a DMCA notice to our designated agent with sufficient detail to identify the material and your rights. We respond pursuant to 17 U.S.C. §512 and accept counter-notices as applicable. We may terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

9. Purchases, Subscriptions & Trials (If Applicable)

If you purchase subscriptions or in-app content on iOS, Apple processes payment via your Apple ID. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your Apple device. Pricing may change for future terms, and we will notify you as required. Trials, if offered, convert to paid unless canceled before the trial ends. Refunds for iOS purchases are handled by Apple.

10. Food/Nutrition & Health Disclaimers

Recipes, nutrition information, and related content are provided for informational purposes only and may be estimates. They do not constitute medical, dietary, or safety advice. Food allergies and cross-contamination risks vary—always check labels and follow safe-cooking temperatures. You are solely responsible for your dietary choices and kitchen safety.

11. Feedback

If you send ideas, suggestions, or feedback, you grant RecipeLab LLC a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them without restriction or compensation.

12. Third-Party Services

The Service may link to or integrate third-party sites, SDKs, or services (including analytics and hosting). We do not control or endorse them and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices.

13. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information. Please review it to understand our practices.

14. Termination & Retention

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, including for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service or community. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, but Sections 6, 8–12, 15–18, and this Section 14 will survive. We may retain minimal information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, legal holds).

15. Warranty Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RecipeLab LLC and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in any way connected to your content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

17. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RecipeLab LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to RecipeLab LLC, if any, during the twelve (12) months prior to the event giving rise to the claim.

18. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective upon posting the revised Terms on the Service or notifying you as required. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

19. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which RecipeLab LLC operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in that jurisdiction for any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, subject to any platform-specific terms that apply to your use of the iOS app.

20. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and RecipeLab LLC regarding the Service and supersede any prior or contemporaneous agreements. No waiver of any term will be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term.
